Writing is a uniquely portable magic.
"My approach to writing lessons depends on various factors--for example, previous learning experiences of the learners, their culture and the society they live in, and their preferred learning styles."
"But more importantly, I attempt to encourage students who have become bored with learning to love writing."
In all fundamental English writing courses Dr. Maia is currently teaching, Bandler and Grinder's Four Modalities of Learning are encouraged in the very beginning of the lessons.
In more advanced writing courses, McCarthy's Four Learning Styles is also integrated into lesson delivery to connect her students with reading and writing resources and teaching tools.
All in all, she hopes that by the end of semester, her students can see language as a "tool" --only a tool to express ideas unless one can learn to "think" in target language.
